Just
as people in the entertainment industry are well known by one name, such as
Oprah, Beyonce and Madonna, there's a lady in the speaking industry that is well
known in CEO Suites by one name, and that name is Pegine (Peg-een).
Pegine
is my Sirius XM Wealthy Ways Show guest this weekend.
She
is a true American success story. Pegine is a former Bronx gang member and was
expelled from her first high school. She eventually graduated from a different
high school after a drama teacher there took Pegine under her wing.
Today,
Pegine is a Leadership speaker, best-selling author, award-winning
businesswoman, advisor to US Presidents (and their task forces), as well as
Fortune 500 executives.
She
focuses on engaging their people and their stakeholders. She educates leaders
and businesswomen on influencing, impacting, and inspiring others to increase
profits, productivity, and positivity.
Pegine
coaches women CEOs, Admirals and Generals, College Presidents, and entrepreneurs
on influence, impact, and presentation skills.
AVON
and Real Leaders Magazine have called Pegine "one of the world's top leadership
motivational speakers."
Her
clients include ten percent of the Fortune 100 global corporations and 15
percent of the Global Top Direct Selling corporations.
Business
and Leadership News Outlets including Forbes, Wall Street Journal, New York
Times, Real Leader Magazine, and HR Magazine seek her expertise for interviews.
Pegine
is the founder of Power Women Worldwide. Her newest book is Called
to Lead: Success Strategies for Women.
During
this interview, Pegine shares 9 ideas and strategies on how you can show up in
life more powerfully – each and every day!
- It
is a choice to become wealthy, prosperous, vivacious, dynamic and
powerful.
- Look
for ways to increase your value and then make sure to communicate your value to
those who can reward you for that value.
- Do
not wait for a fairy godmother to show up in your life. Become your own fairy
godmother.
- Do
not downplay your gifts and skills to make others comfortable; instead, use them
to help others win more.
- Use
the "V.A. L.U. E." system:
V
is for the visibility you share with the people who are in charge.
A
is for attitude. Bring a winning attitude to the organization and share it as
you serve others.
L
is for leverage. Think about who you know and who knows you, and develop the
relationships to make the most of those relationships.
U
is for use your resources and the willingness to thank people who help you to
grow your success.
E
is for evolve. Keep growing, keep expanding and keep developing your skills to
become more productive and powerful.
- Use
daily affirmations to keep you inspired and motivated. Use your phone to record
daily affirmations and uplifting declarations and listen to them every
morning.
- Understand
that your network determines your "net-worth." Networking is very important –
and some folks are uncomfortable with it.
This strategy may help you
out:
Think of yourself as the host rather than just a person in the
room. Greet people in the room as the host, sharing where the refreshments and
bathrooms are.
Ask open-ended questions to get them to talk, then move
to the next base in the room. Visualize the room as a baseball diamond. Work all
the bases, then come back to home plate and repeat the process!
- Make
it a point to SMILE! Before going into meetings, write a note on your pad to
remind yourself to smile. A smile says things that words cannot say.
- Learn
to sell. Selling is the pathway to revenues. Be excited about selling and learn
how to sell better. Selling positively impacts every aspect of your life.
