Monica
- One AI Tool to Rule Them All
Hello,
I've been using
Poe for
a lot of my AI work because it enables me to use all the GPTs - ChatGPT, Claude,
Gemini, and more, as well as the best image and video generators all in one
place.
This
enabled me to save a lot on
all the individual subscriptions, but also to compare results and not to have to
go to multiple tools to do so.
Recently
another similar tool -
Monica -
came onto my radar, and because they have a lot of similarities, I ran a
ChatGPT
Deep Research (14
pages) comparing them and it became very apparent that Monica was a much better
deal for me, so I switched.
What
does Monica do, that Poe doesn't? While Poe lets you compare ChatGPT, Claude,
DeepSeek, and Gemini one after the other, with Monica you can pose a question
and get side-by-side answers from them to compare simultaneously. Monica also
allows quite a bit more usage for less cost, even in their free version, and it
has much better privacy implementations than Poe.
And
it has a browser extension that enables you to "chat" with websites, get
summaries, do screenshots, create mindmaps, and get YouTube video
summaries.
It
has a large number of writing and image editing tools, and it can summarize
multiple open browser tabs at once, check grammar, remove image backgrounds and
watermarks, integrate with Gmail, Facebook and others to help with replies and
posts, transcribe audio, convert PDFs to PowerPoints, generate podcasts,
humanize AI text, translate and convert document files, do OCR on images, and
all sorts of other things.
It
has a free plan, but I think the $9 plan is an incredible bargain as it can
replace hundreds of dollars in subscriptions for all the tools it
incudes.
Which
is right for you? It depends. Use Poe if you want quick access to multiple chat
models in a simple chat interface. Use Monica if you want that plus an
all-in-one general AI assistant with rich tools for work and creativity - like a
Swiss army knife of AI utilities. However, if you just want casual chats or a
quick answer generator, Monica’s power might feel like overkill – Poe would
shine in those scenarios with its simplicity.
