Wheels Recipients Moving Forward...
Veteran Presented Car on President’s Day - Here's where he is now
To read the original story about Andre and his new car - click here: Andre Gets His Car
UPDATE: Andre, an Army veteran, is currently in the program and received his vehicle thanks to the Rays Baseball Foundation repair sponsorship. After being homeless and having his license suspended (because of fines in Georgia he wasn’t aware of) Wheels of Success helped him take care of the situation thanks to an anonymous donor! Since receiving his car, Andre has been able to add a second job and also see his kids who live an hour away.
Veteran Moves into Newer Car to Accommodate More Work
Anthony, a Marine completed the Wheels program and traded in his 2008 Hyundai Tiburon toward a newer model 2015 Nissan Altima (thank you GTE Financial for donating the vehicle) which he purchased through our A.B.C. (Automotive Buying Center) Program, as he has just gotten his realtor’s license in addition to working his security job at double the income he was making when he came to us. Thank you Tampa Bay Rays Foundation for sponsoring Anthony’s first car. #raysbaseballfoundation
Veteran Merla
Gets her Title!
To round out our successful Veterans program in May - Army Veteran Merla came to us not only as a veteran, but through our Kinship Program (Build a Life) having taken on the care of raising her young grandson.
UPDATE: Merla received the title to her Toyota Prius after completing the Program!
?Special thanks to Santander Consumer USA for sponsoring the repair of the vehicle.
?Channing..
From Surviving to Thriving
Channing originally came to us through our Road to Independence Program (for Domestic Violence Survivors) over 3 years ago. Once she received her first set of wheels, she was ready to move forward and was determined to make her dog grooming business a success and create a stable home for her girls. Thanks to Pure Life Medispa for sponsoring the repairs on her first car.
UPDATE: Channing has not only succeeded since that first car from Wheels - she has thrived and continues to grow with even more accomplishments. Her daughters are doing well in a private school (on scholarships) and they are on the honor roll. One daughter just earned her orange belt in karate and the other one is following in her mom's footsteps of showing dogs. Channing now has her own dog grooming and dog training business that has been so successful she has a new car and the sky is the limit with this trio. Channing has also made it her mission to give back and has been spreading the word about Wheels. Thank you and congratulations! Click to hear her story
Partnerships / Nuts & Bolts Club
DUE to Car Shortages and the uptick in Used Car prices, we are expanding our program to include more car repairs as car donations are down due to the pandemic. Join our Nuts and Bolts Club to make a monthly automatic donation - no amount is too small to help cover those repair costs - $10 monthly will buy and install a battery. $25 monthly will replace a water pump. $40 monthly will buy 4 tires and balancing/alignment. $50 monthly will replace a radiator.
