I was recently in Bradenton helping with my firefighter son's tournament that is coming up the benefit the Children's Burn Camp http://www.firecharityfishing.com.
What makes this years event to sepcial to me is that it's goig to be held over Father's Day and I'm hoping many Dad will get a boat and create lifelone memories with their kids - especially their daughters. I'm an "only" daughter and first born. I definitely didn't have my Dad wrapped around my finger, nor was I "Daddy's little girl". Instead I was honored with hanging out with my brothers and Dad and doing "guy things." He taught me how to change the oil in my car, how to hit and catch a baseball, how to drive his stick shift truck and much more. And some of my favorite memories where when he would wake me up to take me fishing. Allot of times my brothers didn't want to go so it was just me and my dad. A rare opportunity to spend one on one time with this hard working man.
In the busiest of life today - I sure hope I see daughter's fishing with their Dad's at this tournament - it will bring his memory alittle closer and last alittle longer that day.
