Hi,
I love solstice time (both summer and winter) because I see it not only as
a marker for seasonal change, but I also view it as a bit of an opportunity for
reflection as well. It's like an opportunity for a "do-over" if needed.
As a business owner I am a firm believer in doing several check-ins with myself throughout the
year. One of the questions I like to ask is, "Am I practicing what I preach?"
We sometimes get so caught up in business details, our clients/customers,
product development, paperwork, and not to mention the demands of our personal
lives, that we might end up NOT doing what we
are advising others.
- If you are in health and wellness and teaching self-care and maintaining
healthy habits, are you also taking the time to set this up/implement in your
own life?
- If your customers book calls or sessions with you that you expect them to
show up for (and show up on time), are you also honoring your own appointments
and commitments?
- If you are in the financial industry and are asking your clients to note
areas in their business expenses where they might be "leaking" money or paying
for software they don't need, are you aware of your own money coming in and
out?
- If you send out emails or important documentation to your clients/customers
that you need them to carefully read before moving forward, are you being
mindful about reading your own emails and documents?
- If you are looking to your colleagues to send you referrals, are you also
showing up for them, taking time to nurture your referral relationships? (This is why we offer monthly Zoom networking events,
by the way.)
This is a great time to make some adjustments in HOW you are doing things,
to be more congruent to your values and what you are expecting from
others.
