September is National Self-Care Awareness Month! | | | FUN: Tomorrow night, September 14th, if you're here in the Burgh consider coming to the Steel City Storytellers show at Kingfly Spirits in the Strip District. In addition to performing, As part of the Steel City Storytellers team, I've worked really hard to make this show a fabulous event, so here are the details. | First, It's a collaboration with the Yinz Are Good podcast hosted by Tressa Glover. We'll be a broadcasting the show LIVE on her Facebook page for those of you who are not in Pittsburgh. She will also be recording the show for a later episode of the podcast. All you need to do is like the page and show up at 730 pm EST on Wednesday to tune in! | | Second, during every show we have a segment called Truth or Lie. This is where I’ll be sharing my tale Flying Air Conditioners. After each performer tells a story that falls somewhere along the truthiness spectrum, the audience guesses which are truths and which are lies. Every correct guess means a donation to our charity of the month and September is ForGoodPGH, co-founded by Giselle Fetterman. | Third, the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council will be on hand to ask your opinion on what the arts mean to you and the community. These surveys are done only once every five years and the data collected helps get funding for arts groups and events throughout Pittsburgh. This money is critical in continuing the city's history of being an arts hub, so make sure your voice is heard! | Tickets are just $12 and you can get them HERE. And remember if you're not in town, you can still watch via the Yinz Are Good Facebook live. | | DONE: The Community Care Behavioral Health 25th Anniversary art show kicked off last week and I am thrilled to have been included. Twenty-five local artists contributed to the show with some amazing art, which is still on display at the Millvale Library on Grant Street. If you're in town, stop by - not just for the art but it is one of the coolest libraries I've ever been in. This is above the back door: | | That's all for me. Hope you're having a great week! | | |
