Hi,
My
Willie Jolley Wealthy Ways Sirius XM show this week features excerpts from my
daily radio program of my friend, global best-selling author, the late, great,
Keith Harrell.
The
response was so positive that I realized I needed to share more from my good
friend.
Keith
met an untimely death over 12 years ago, and it’s been about 14 years since I
interviewed him! I searched my “media vault“ for the full interview.
I’m
excited to bring this powerful interview to you. And I’m confident it will be a
blessing to you and all who you’ll share it with.
Keith
Harrell grew up with a speech impediment and wore corrective braces on his legs.
As a result, he was unable to run and play ball with his friends.
Speech
therapy as well as physical therapy (provided by his parents), helped him master
his speech impediment; and aggressive physical therapy helped Keith develop his
leg muscles. Keith Harrell become a world class basketball player.
His
high school team won the State Championship, and he was named the MVP. While in
college, Keith again led his team to great victories. He was named the
“collegiate player of the year!” However, his anticipated draft by the NBA did
not happen, and Keith decided to take a job with IBM.
He
became a top salesman for IBM and then a corporate trainer. It was at IBM that
Keith learned the power of “Attitude!” Keith started a professional speaking
business and became the #1 corporate speaker in America. He wrote the
best-selling book, Attitude
is Everything, and was inducted into the Speaker Hall of Fame. He produced a
PBS special and created training programs that were used by Fortune 100
companies around the world.
Keith
became a multi-millionaire, giving away millions of dollars in scholarships. He
passed away after a courageous battle with spinal cancer, yet his books and
videos continue to impact people to this day!
In
this very memorable interview, Keith shared 8 tips to help you grow your
personal success and achievement:
- Some
people have eyes, ears, arms and legs. Some folks don’t. But everyone has an
attitude! It’s free, but you have to work on it if you want it to improve your
quality of life. If you want to win more, you must work on it, work at it, and apply a positive
approach to everything you do!
- Whatever
you think about, you will bring about - either positive or negative, good or
bad.
- Be
mindful of the “3 P’s” as you go through the storms of life.
1. It’s not
Permanent.
2. It’s not Pervasive (not all-encompassing).
3. It’s not
Personal. Setbacks and storms happen to everyone.
- You
cannot have a victory if you continue to play the “victim" role.
- Victory
is always on the other side of the process of “growing through,” not just “going
through” the process!
- Either
you will live your faith or live your fears - you choose. You either overcome
your fears or your fears will overcome you.
- You
cannot change the past, but you can change your future.
- You
cannot control what happened to you, but you can change what happens
in you! You choose!
