Brian Tracy has done extensive study on successful
people. He’s written books full of the successful habits of wealthy people. Our
time together covered over 10 daily habits of wealthy people that you can use in
your personal and professional life.
Brian says, they're so simple, it's
embarrassing! |
-
Successful people do these things:
a. They get up early - before 6 a.m. Work all the
time when you’re at work
b. Read for 60 minutes each day. Warren Buffett
reads five hours a day. Bill Gates, reads two books a week, and summarizes the
books and put them on his website.
c. Write down 10 goals in the present tense, as
though you have already achieved them. Why? Your subconscious mind can only
accept a command presented in the present tense. Say, “I earn..." "I weigh..."
"I achieve..." "I accomplish..." "I make..." in terms of sales. Become addicted
to task completion. All success comes from starting and completing tasks.
d. Use the “law of three.” Three things
account for 90% of your value. And of those three, there's one that's probably
worth 80%.
e. Learn in the pauses. When you hear or read
something of value, stop. Turn it over in your mind. Think, "How could I use
that? How could I apply that? What examples can I think of?" Then carry on to
the next point.
f. You must have savings, investments (compounding
interest), and insurance.
g. Organize your days and prioritize. Work hard,
hard, hard. “Failure experiences” help you become successful. Jeff Bezos, who
formed Amazon, lost money with Amazon for ten years.
-
If you have “more month” than money, upgrade
yourself by reading. Read 50 books a year, and you'll be rich. It's just
astonishing.
-
Plan every day in advance by making your list the
night before. And if you have 10 or 20 things to do, use the “law of three.”
-
Set goals. Write and rewrite your 10 goals every
morning using a spiral notebook. Write in short present tense sentences. The
best time to write is the night before, making a list of everything you must do
tomorrow.
-
Prioritize your list.
-
Manage your time by saying "NO" to everything that
is not amongst your top three most important tasks at any time.
-
The root of all the problems in relationships is
criticizing. Don’t do it. Start the morning with members of your family. Tell
them you love them, respect them. Dale Carnegie’s book, How to Win Friends
and Influence People says you should make everybody you deal with feel
important.
-
Treat every person you meet like a million-dollar
customer.
-
Albert Einstein said “Compounding is the eighth
wonder of the world.” When you start to compound any amount, it starts to grow
rapidly. But you must have something to start with.
-
Listen to audio programs in your car or while on
the
move. | | |
