My Willie Jolley Wealthy Ways Sirius XM show guest this weekend is
David L. Meinz, an internationally recognized personal health improvement expert, registered dietitian nutritionist, and dynamic keynote speaker.
He is often referred to as “America’s Personal Health Improvement Expert” because of his extensive work in promoting sustainable healthy lifestyles that boost energy, productivity, and overall well-being.
When David was a young man, he lost his father to a massive heart attack at the age of 56. His grandfather and great-grandfather also died in their fifties of heart attacks. David decided that it needed to stop with him, so he dedicated himself to learn as much as he could about health.
Over the years, he has taught many people how to prolong their lives, including his mother, who is now 99, and doing great!
Meinz holds a Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition (MS); is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD); and a Fellow in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (FAND) – an honor bestowed on a very select group of dietitians. He’s earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation from the National Speakers Association as well.
One of his books, Wealthy, Healthy & Wise: How to Make Sure Your Health Lasts As Long As Your Money Does, illustrates the concept of building “health equity” much like financial wealth.
Here are 6 of David Meinz's takeaways as to why good health is the key to a good life and long-lasting wealth!
- Many work hard to have enough money to last in retirement, but don’t focus on having good health to enjoy the money they have saved.
- Just as money compounds over time, so do the benefits of investing in your health.
- The secret is to “eat food that is closer to the way it grows!”
- Our biggest culprit is high processed food - which are everywhere.
- Commit to exercise with intention - 150 minutes of moderate exercise per week, or 75 minutes of intense exercise per week. It will make a positive difference in your life.
- Always pursue excellence in your work, eating and exercise efforts. All 3 make a major difference in your success.
