Hi,
Happy
New Year! I hope you are ready for a TREMENDOUS Year!
I
believe the best way to predict the future is to create the future you wish to
have. And that starts with your thinking.
This
week, we have a special Willie Jolley Wealthy Ways show that features Joe Hart,
the President of the Dale Carnegie Institute.
Joe
Hart took a Dale Carnegie course when he was a young man. His father had taken a
Dale Carnegie course and encouraged young Joe to do the same. That course had a
tremendous impact on young Joe. He became a successful lawyer and the head of
several companies that he led to greater success.
In
2015, Joe Hart became the President and CEO of the Dale Carnegie Institute, a
global training and development company with operations in over 75 countries. It
is the worldwide leader in professional development, performance improvement,
leadership training and employee engagement. Participants build skills through
in-person, online, and hybrid programs.
Joe
is excited to serve as the global leader of this tremendous organization and to
help individuals and businesses all around the world unlock their great
potential to perform at their very best.
He
has received the Transformative CEO Leadership Award in the category of People
by The CEO Forum Group in 2019. He began hosting "Take Command: A Dale Carnegie
Podcast" in January 2020. It became a Top 50 Leadership podcast in April 2021.
Now,
Joe has authored a powerful new book called Take
Command - Find Your Inner Strength, Build Enduring Relationships and Live the
Life That You Want.
Here
are 10 thought provoking ideas from Joe’s new book:
- All
success starts in your mind. To live your best life, you must take command of
your thinking.
- Our
lives are the result of our decisions, and our decisions are based on our
thinking. So...always think good about yourself and your future.
- Life
is about relationships and connections. The winners understand the importance of
relationships. Focus on your relationships.
- To
make your future what you want it to be, you must know what that future looks
like. You must make a decision on what you really want in our future.
You can make the decision for yourself or let someone else make that
decision for you. Joe recommends you make the decision.
- Tell
yourself daily that you are brilliant, even when you make mistakes. Give
yourself the latitude to learn from the mistakes and make the decision to get
better.
Everyone makes mistakes. Just decide to learn and grow from
them.
- Winners
understand that Dale Carnegie was right when he said, “Don’t waste time and
energy complaining...get on about making things better!”
- Focus
on the things that you can change and refuse to sit and stew about the things
you cannot change.
- Be
intentional about your life and your success. Intentionality starts with
purposeful living and a positive vision for your future.
- Look
for opportunities. They are all around you…even in challenging times. Those who
believe there are opportunities and look for them tend to find them.
- Long-term
success is always built on the power of positive relationships. Develop
relationships by identifying how you can help others and be a blessing to them.
The blessing will come back to you; maybe not from the person you
helped, but by someone else. It’s a universal law!
