The Importance of
Choosing the Right AI Tool for the Job
Don’t
get me wrong, I love ChatGPT,
and I use it every day. But is it the best tool for writing creative copy, and
for research? Often not. And what about image generation? Definitely
not.
For
creative copy, Claude
3
usually produces more aesthetic results, and for research, Perplexity and
even Gemini
1.5
(despite its recent issues), can produce better results.

a great free way to compare the output of numerous GPTs.
But
I'm going to concentrate this post on image generation, since this is an area
where people end up wasting a great deal of time trying to create the exact
image that they want.
If
you want an often highly stylized, non-photorealistic, obviously AI image, that
doesn't exactly match your prompt, and that messes with your text, by all means
use ChatGPT and its DALL-E 3 image generator. Sometimes I do. :)
But
while MidJourney,
Leonardo,
and sometimes Firefly
3 and
Stable
Diffusion, do
way better for photorealistic images, where they all also fall down is prompt
adherence - and this is what wastes so much time for many people.
What
is prompt
adherence, and
why is it so important, and is there a solution?
If
you've spent much time using AI to try to generate images, you've probably run
into the image generators adding things you didn't ask for, missing things you
did ask for, putting things in the wrong position, messing up your text, and
other things that are different from what you wanted.
Prompt
adherence is how closely the generated image matches what you asked
for.
Why
it's important is that when it doesn't match, you have to spend more time going
back and forth adjusting your prompt and regenerating the image to try and get
what you want, and often end up "settling" for what you can get.
Is
there a solution? Yes, and I’ll show you it in a moment. First, let's take a
prompt that would bring most AI image generators to their knees, and see the
results from the main ones:
