You
might have missed my email the other day about amazing women in leadership — or,
if you did read it, you might have missed the link I included … because
it wasn’t there! Gotta love tech!
So...here
it is again with promised links. Enjoy and send me your thoughts and comments if
you’re so moved, by hitting reply.
Lately
we’ve seen women showing up as amazing leaders in all kinds of ways — have you
noticed? Isn’t it thrilling? Around the globe and at home, women of all ages and
backgrounds see the problems we are facing, embrace the need for change, and
know that they must raise their voice in response.
P.M.
of New Zealand Jacinda Arden, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Atty. Gen. Ellen
Rosenblum, co-founder of Black Lives Matter Alicia Barza, Fmr. Secy. of State
Madeleine Albright, March for Our Lives leader Emma Gonzales are just a few of the names that pop up for me right now — and
so many more who don’t make the national news.
It’s
heartening to see the young women stand up so confidently and powerfully, and
continue to enter government and workforce leadership in such great numbers. I
think of the shoulders they are standing on, including women of my generation
who lived very different lives from today’s women.
If
you are more than 60 years old, you may not want to read my “story from the trenches” — if you’re 40 or under, I really
hope you do as a glimpse into what it was like back in the day for a woman in
the “Man’s Army;” and how we can stay on-track to fight the little battles that
still confront us every day.
I
believe it’s important for we women to share our stories, and to do everything
we can to become more extraordinary people and leaders.
Be
courageous — dare to
lead!
