Is Facebook's 'Instant-message' money (P2P) safe?
Listen in to Kathy on the Small Business Advocate Radio Show as she discusses the vulnerability in Facebook's new person-to-person (P2P) payments - http://www.smallbusinessadvocate.com/small-business-interviews/kathy-perry-21543 - it's for Facebook friends in the US to 'instant message' money to each other using their debit cards which are connected to their bank accounts.
This is a huge opportunity to be scammed through phishing attacks. If you get a message from a FB 'Friend' saying they sent you money, double check with your friend to make sure they really did, otherwise it might be a hi-jacked account that is sending that message to you. It links both of your bank accounts.
And while Facebook claims that everything is encrypted and secure, you can be certain that there are criminals/hackers that know how to game the system.
Hope you don't get phished!
