This weekend on my Sirius XM show, I celebrate the amazing
accomplishments of my friend, Pastor John K. Jenkins Sr., by replaying his
interview from earlier this season.
Last week, Pastor Jenkins made history, becoming
the first African American to be elected President of The Converge Denomination.
Converge is a global denomination with its history dating back to 1852. His
being elected to be the first African American to lead the denomination is quite
a historic event.
In addition to being the new President of Converge,
he continues to lead The First Baptist Church of Glenarden, which is the largest
congregation in Maryland, with thousands of members attending weekly both
locally and globally.
Yet, that is not all. Pastor Jenkins is the
Chairman of The Board of The National Association of Evangelicals. Plus, he’s a
great business leader, serving on many boards including banking, health care,
and social enrichment.
In 2023, Pastor Jenkins received his Master of Arts
in Ministry Leadership from Wheaton College. Plus, an honorary Doctor of
Divinity from Denver Seminary in Littleton, CO; and another from the Southern
California School of Ministry in Inglewood, CA.
Many want to know how Pastor Jenkins has had all
these amazing accomplishments.
