Hi,
My Sirius XM show this weekend is a special tribute
to the late, great, Joe Dudley, Sr.
As a child, Joe had a speech impediment and was
labeled “slow” by his teachers. But his mother told him he was going to “fool
'em!”
While in college, he invested $10 to become a
distributor for the Fuller Brush Company and developed a love for reading and
motivation. When he married, he and his wife Eunice started a company from their
kitchen table. The company, Dudley Products, has gone on to become one of the
premier beauty companies in America.
Joe Dudley went on to become a multimillionaire and
philanthropist. He's been listed in the Top 50 companies in America, by Black
Enterprise Magazine. He has been inducted into the Horatio Alger Association of
Outstanding Americans and presented with the Trumpet Award and many Honorary
Doctoral Degrees.
In his book, Walking by Faith: I Am! I Can!
& I Will!, Joe shared 10 Basic principles for wealth building. He spoke
of how he overcame his setbacks and turned them into comebacks. And he shared
secrets to “fool 'em” when others doubt you and try to limit your
possibilities!
Here are a few of those powerful
secrets:
- Your thinking determines your income, small
thinking, small income…big thinking, big results!
- Don’t focus on small ideas or hang with
small-minded people. You become who you hang out with.
- Read more self-help books! Reading people are
"ruling" people, and the first person you need to rule is yourself.
- Listen (to motivation) and read to succeed! Have
dedicated curiosity.
- There are 3 key steps to success:
a.)
Decide WHAT you want,
b.) Ask WHY you want it,
c.) WRITE it
down!
- Get good mentors and role models.
- Take initiative and work hard. Get off your
bottom so you can get to the top!
- Think! Anytime you want something, you must
plant it deeply in your mind. Your subconscious mind can work on it every
day.
- Believe in God and ask for what you want. God
will meet you at your level of expectation.
- Build your faith so it can help you move
mountains.
- Repeat this mantra daily, “I am, I can, I
will be
somebody!”
