It is
surreal.
The film-maker approached me for permission to
license the song & video
and most certainly did so with great love &
respect.
I knew it was documentary of some kind having to do
with ultimately supporting the cause of
helping big cats & providing
press for
https://bigcatrescue.org/
What I did not know, was that it was for the series,"Tiger King,"
nor
did I have any idea how big the show would become,
or that the song and my
image would get almost a full minute of air time.
I am indeed, deeply appreciative of this moment in
the show - as I also got to
see
Carole Baskin & Howard of
BCR view the video and be moved by it.
As an artist, to watch someone get
visibly moved by your work
is one of the greatest gifts there is
<3.
Thank you for this beautiful moment.
The series is, however, for fans of true-crime
& extreme drama who
have a high-tolerance for disturbing images -
especially regarding the treatment of animals.
It is very different from what I would create
myself. But diversity IS the nature of life.
It is a compelling story, very well-made, with
years of research & technical excellence
that does indeed expose those
who are waaay out of balance, ultimately help animals
& provide press
for Big Cat Rescue...
...but I would highly recommend listening to YOUR inner
guidance
to see if this is something that would be okay for YOU to
watch.
HOWEVER...
If you have Netflix, and are a highly sensitive
soul like me
who is leaning more toward comedy and light material,
you can still opt to watch our scene
ONLY
- and I believe it would still honor the film-makers with
clicks/views/etc.
It is in "Tiger King," Episode 2 and appears at
approximately 31 minutes into the show.
It then runs for approx 50
seconds.
Again, diversity is the nature of life, and I have
come to know that
every human being has different preferences & tastes
and that all things can ultimately be helpful and beneficial.
Though this project manifested into a different
form than I would have imagined,
I am still DEEPLY grateful for the doors
that have and are opening as a result of my involvement...
And I am still humbled that the film-maker
positioned our scene in such a way to
honor Carol & Howard & my work,
while showing some tenderness & light.
"They come from all over to gather in this
place
To teach us how to live and see some brighter days
And I am humbled
to pay homage
And even lend a hand
For they are a reminder that we still
can,
We still can
Be
Beautiful
Wild
And
Free."

Free"
