For the second year, Wheels of Success will present a car every day leading up until December 23rd. This program, known as The '12 Cars of Christmas', allows Wheels of Success and its generous partners to provide
transportation solutions for 12 working Bay area families, each of the twelve days before Christmas Eve Day.
With the support of local partners like Hands Across the Bay and State Farm, the holiday campaign will help veterans, violence survivors, and others access the vehicles they desperately need to achieve self-sufficiency, and find greater success.
The first three vehicles (highlighted below) will be presented on Thursday, December 11th at the Gold & Diamond Source VIP Holiday Party, sponsored by Sun Trust. A full list of recipients and partners is available at www.wheelsofsuccess.org.
- The first vehicle, funded by Julie Weintraub's Hands Across the Bay and Sun Trust, will be presented to Mallory. The 2003 VW Passat will provide Mallory with a safe and secure travel alternative to walking to work during the evenings. The vehicle will also enable her to keep much-needed therapy appointments and provide for her young daughter.
- The second vehicle, funded by State Farm, will be presented to Philicia as part of the Vehicles for Veterans program. Philica is a United States Army Veteran having served in Afghanistan. The 2007 Chevy Impala will enable Philica to safely travel to and from work in the evenings when public transportation is not available.
- The third vehicle, funded by AAA Auto Club Group, will be presented to Ariel as part of the Cars for Caregivers program. Ariel is a certified nursing assistant studying to become a licensed practical nurse. The 2000 Buick Century will enable Ariel to transport her four children to and from school activities, keep required medical appointments and complete her education while working full-time.
