“What you seek is seeking you”
--
Rumi—13th century Persian poet and Sufi
master
Rumi’s quote reminds us that our intentions have power:
Synchronicity, positive thinking, Law of Attraction, God, or Higher Order
(whatever we call it) guides and supports us through life. When we set our
intentions, take purposeful actions towards achieving our goals and allow
something greater than ourselves to work with us, we “ease on down the road.”
For example, the right person shows up at the right time or the right
opportunity finds its way to us. Something extraordinary happens that feels
miraculous. In those moments, life flows and we flow with it!
If you are
striving and struggling to accomplish a goal, it might be time to let go of your
judgments, resistance, and control in order to connect with the creative
flow
. The flow or zone makes things feel
easy, effortless and enjoyable. When we do our best with an open mind and heart
and trust this invisible process, we are more able to turn obstacles into
stepping stones to greater abundance, fulfillment and personal growth. The flow
invites us to bring balance to achieving through action and attracting through
mindfulness. Are you ready to bring ease and flow into the New
Year?
These three strategies will help you do just that:
- Less
judgments toward yourself: More acceptance will energize and inspire you to be
all you can be.
- Less
resistance to what is happening: More allowing will enable you to work with what
is and take next steps with clarity.
- Less
emotional attachment to outcomes: More letting go of controlling outcomes will
attract what you want in miraculous ways.
Putting these strategies
into action works like this:
Where in your life are you
struggling or striving? Ask yourself these questions to bring more flow to the
situation: What judgment is limiting me?
A judgment against yourself might be: I’m not good enough;
others can do it better; I do not deserve to have this. The “shoulds” sound like
this: I should be able to do this on my own; I should be further along with
this; or I should work harder. As you replace your negative perceptions with
positive ones, you will feel empowered and inspired to reach for excellence.
Your mantra could be “I am enough and becoming more every day.” Self-acceptance
places you in the flow.
- Action:
Give more love and acceptance to yourself; limiting judgments will fade away.
Am I struggling to make this happen? Once you
get centered and still, ask yourself: Is this goal compelling to me? Is this the
right time? Do my personal resources support this? Am I sabotaging my success?
Is it time to change course? Once you gain a clear perspective, you might
discover that you need to: 1) create a more realistic goal (unrealistic
expectations sabotage success); 2) ask for help; or 3) see the problem
differently to find the “right” solution. When you accept and work with what is,
you find ways to flow with life, not struggle against it.
- Action:
Work with what is and look around to find what works; you will discover the next
step.
Am I willing to let go of having it my
way?As you let go of control and allow the outcome or insight
to find you, you will learn to attract what you want with ease. Whether it is an
outcome or insight, be willing to allow a power greater than yourself to work
with you. As you take purposeful actions to achieve your goal and let go of
emotional attachment to the outcome, you allow what you want to find you. The
result might look different from your vision, but it will ultimately be filled
with personal truth and satisfaction. Your mantra might be: “this or something
better.”
- Action:
Do your best and allow the outcome to be what it is; you will encounter the
creative flow.
Last year was filled with challenges, disappointments
and losses as well as some wonderful blessings for
me. These three techniques enabled
me to withstand the hits, take the necessary actions and trust that a Higher
Power was working with me. They will enable you to change your perceptions, make
wise choices and connect with the creative flow. The techniques work intimately
together. As you work with them, you will bring more ease and flow into your New
Year!
To live well longer, go with the flow of life as you accept
yourself more, work with what is happening, and surrender outcomes to a Higher
Power.
