strategic board member of the nonprofit Equip Our Kids and
a very dear friend and colleague of mine, passed this information along to me.
I
want to support her and send this out to make you aware of the EQuip Our Kids!
annual crowd-funder, as well as their mission.
EQuip
Our Kids! is a national nonprofit campaign raising needed parent and public
awareness about and support for EQ and personal life skills. The organization
believes it’s the fastest, surest path to tremendous positive upsides for preK
to 12 students, their families, schools, the workforce, and communities. Their
work affects millions of kids!
EQuip
Our Kids! has played a major national role raising crucial parent awareness and
support from 5% awareness to 75% for the game-changing emotional intelligence
training and relevant life
skills known as Social-Emotional Learning (SEL). This has helped allow a few
million kids to experience their first taste of this life-enhancing,
school-transforming learning, which has also helped with the national youth
mental health crisis.
The
crowd-funder this year will help get these skills to many more kids.

The
funding also allow EQuip Our Kids! to:
• Continuing
to generate crucial nationwide parent support for SEL in their schools plus our
help to bring SEL practices into their homes, including with a to be launched
free streaming service.
•
Support 30 SEL Grassroots orgs with many thousands of educator members with
continuing marketing and media creation, and helping form new ones.
•
Continue developing a student SEL support movement and encouraging relevant
municipal departments and school districts across the country to include SEL in
afterschool and summer projects, and law enforcement groups to advocate for this
learning as a proven reducer of youth crime, gangs and drug abuse.
