SEMINOLE, FL. – Author, speaker and caregiver advocate, Linda Burhans has a message to share with those who have faced or certainly will face one of life’s most difficult challenges. Connecting Caregivers Radio is calling for entries for “ Thank You Caregivers” – a new contest focused on raising awareness of family caregivers – the many silent heroes who provide care and comfort to a loved one. Each month a caregiver will be chosen to receive a gift basket containing respite care, massages, gift cards for restaurants etc. They will also be invited on the radio program along with the person who nominated them. There are an estimated 44 million caregivers in the United States today. They are the partners, spouses, sons, daughters, friends and loved ones who carry out a daily mission of compassion, hope and assistance. Through their commitment they provide dignity and comfort to a family member or loved one in need of care. “Caregiving can take a physical, financial and emotional toll. This contest is our way of saying thank you – and showing our unwavering commitment to provide the highest quality resources, advocacy and insights for caregivers and their families.” Individuals wishing to nominate a caregiver, or themselves if they are a caregiver, can register at www.ConnectingCaregiversRadio.com. All that is required is an email address and a short written entry outlining why the nominated caregiver should be recognized.
Winners will be randomly selected from a pool of applicants and notified via email.
