How Is It Possible to Achieve Success?
Most people are genuinely excited upon entering the first job of their career or their first entrepreneurship. The enthusiasm includes believing that they are talented and will experience success upon proving their abilities. They never see the reality staring them in the face, including uncaring others in their new surroundings. Accordingly, the question arises, how is it possible to achieve success?
"Whatever you choose to believe will prove true for you."
We each define the word success in varying ways. For example, we view recording artists and movie stars as hugely successful. We are unaware of the pain and suffering some experience in their journey to reach their fame.
We wonder how some people become popular throughout our schooling and whether their popularity converts into career success. Going down the rabbit hole of questioning, we may wonder how it will be possible to achieve success if one is a less popular person.
I applied the question initially to the sales profession as an unwelcomed participant. I chose to keep an eye on my competition to know what they do and their style(s) to differentiate my delivery to my clientele more easily. The practice proved successful.
However, my sales training was initiated in childhood unknowingly. Growing up with bullies around, I became determined not to let anyone hold me back. Every evening the mantra was, the under-rated athletes are the ones who slide past to win. On the other side, I continually heard, 'be nice to everyone no matter who it may be.' Applying those two concepts to the work environment was my secret for eventually achieving success.
Sometimes, traditional thinking remains in place because it works well throughout the years. Everyone hears one more strategy during the December holiday festivities. Unfortunately, we do not keep it in mind for the remainder of the year. The Scottish lyrics of the song, Auld Lang Syne, ask, 'Should Old Acquaintances Be Forgotten and Never Brought to Mind?' The answer is a resounding, No!
We do better to continue our quest to meet the people who bring joy and inspiration into our lives. Before social media, networking groups were trendy for entrepreneurs, particularly those in the beginning phase of business. I dedicated myself to one chapter of a national organization where I met remarkable women. Our goal was to help one another move from the beginning phase to the next level and the next. And herein lies the difference ~
'Never forget old acquaintances! – And - The moment someone comes to mind, reach out to have a conversation!
Sue Wilhite and I met at one such event many years ago. Today, Sue features me on her TV Show, 'Sweet Sound of Success.' You may click this link to listen to the show and hear my insights for reaching the sweet sound of success: https://rb.gy/srf73a
My author journey began at one Chapter meeting where we initially met, never forgetting old acquaintances. You can bet that I am still in touch with a number of the women whom I met at the beginning of my entrepreneurial endeavor.
What are the highlights of my sweet sound of success?
Most significant for me is that I decided to conduct business my way long ago despite the awful predictions and encouragement to quit. I meet people globally with diverse experiences who stimulate and inspire creative thought. Even better, I am a contributor to the effort of the Inclusion Allies Coalition that encourages our global community to hold and build upon the ideal of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Currently my favorite milestones are:
· Nice Girls DO Get The Sale is now Evergreen and a Classi!
· HIRED! How to Use Sales Techniques To Sell Yourself On Interviews helped many acquire the jobs they sought.
· I am enjoying long-term friendships with professionals dedicated to helping one another.
· Smooth Sale Blog distribution continues its growth with the dedication to helping younger people achieve their goals.
"Long ago, the Dale Carnegie public speaking class taught me to share my stories with whomever I meet. It is the story-sharing, respect for others, and dedication to serving communities that brought me to #The Sweet SoundofSuccess!
Time to Answer: Do You Believe You Can Achieve Success?
The one main differentiator for achieving success is maintaining the mindset, 'Yes, I Can! Will you continue to remind yourself that you can achieve success?
No doubt and many times over, it is essential to give yourself a pep talk in the mirror over and over until you see a smile take over. The next tip is to part ways with those who selfishly predict you won't make it because it's not valid should you maintain positivity and the determination to make it happen.
The most challenging part is recovering from when things are not as expected. Know that the quicker you pick up the pieces to examine where the difficulty began, the more quickly you can recover and advance. The mishaps guide us to a better direction, and so learn to welcome them; another example of why a positive mindset is essential so you can achieve success.
As you build networks, stay in touch with those whose ideas you admire and welcome a free exchange to create something unique. As former acquaintances come to mind, reach out to reconnect. They will often welcome hearing from you, and upon providing updates, a collaborative effort may likely be forthcoming.
In conclusion, you will be far more likely to see success reveal itself by dedicating yourself to continuing no matter the barriers and not giving up to make your dream come true!
