5 Critical Questions for Closing out 2010
We’ve designated January 1st as a new start. Many set resolutions and goals (I’m not a fan of these – I prefer to create a vision of how we want the year to unfold and setting intentions to get there. I can address that in a future blog). In any case, it’s a fresh start. But we can’t really begin anew without clearing out the residue from the current year. I recommend to my clients that they make an audit of the year we’re completing. Five of the questions to consider are: What are you most proud of personally/professionally from this year? How are you different than you were last January? What was your most meaningful achievement? What 5 things do you need/want to let go of as you review your year? What do you feel grateful for? I know for many it will be a relief to see2010 end, but as you review your year, look for the bright spots, the learnings, the growth, the things that brought joy as well as the tough parts. The Challenge: Take time to fully review 2010, celebrate it all and prepare to enter the new year with positive anticipation.
