Junior
Bridgeman is a former professional basketball player who never made a lot of
money playing basketball in comparison to the salaries of today. His top salary
was less than $350,000 a year. Yet today, he’s ranked by Forbes as the
fourth-wealthiest retired athlete in the world behind only Michael Jordan, David
Beckham, and Arnold Palmer.
While
Bridgeman played basketball for only 13 seasons, during the off-season, he
worked at Wendy’s to learn the restaurant business.
After
retiring from the NBA, Bridgeman invested in Wendy’s and Chili’s restaurants,
owning over 100 of each across America. He has become a bottler for Coca-Cola in
America and Canada, and in 2020, bought Ebony and Jet Magazines!
Bridgeman
sits on a number of Corporate boards and still serves as an usher in his church
in Louisville, KY. He speaks of how faith, family, and focus are keys to his
success along with business secrets that can help you grow your future and your
finances.
Junior
Bridgeman shares these 7 success keys:
- Wise
people learn that even though you might make a good salary, you will not sustain
your wealth if you do not save and invest.
- Be
willing to follow a proven system for success. You will have less trial and
error and more predictable results.
- Decide
to constantly work on yourself and become a lifelong student.
- Ask
questions of people who know more than you. Keep learning so you can keep
earning.
- Be
willing to be ignorant to get smart as you learn more.
- Be
willing to Trust God and work hard. Both were critical to his success. And he
highly recommends them for you.
- You
must have clear values and beliefs, or you will be easily swayed away from your
goals and objectives.
