SiriusXM
Show Interview
Summary | |
Stedman Graham is a successful American author, speaker,
educator and businessman. Despite all of this—he is probably best known as the
long-time partner of Oprah Winfrey.
Stedman
has written 12 books and built a number of successful companies. While his books
focus on leadership, his passion is helping people—especially young people—to
lead and succeed, and to be the best they can be.
The
tall and lanky man from New Jersey has won many hearts with his simplicity,
confidence and caring leadership qualities.
In
this interview for my SiriusXM show, Stedman reminds us about what it takes to
be a successful leader.
- If
you want to be great, start in the pit! No one starts at the top. Start off
small and work your way to the top!
- You
cannot lead anyone else until you first lead yourself.
- Some
people are in a prison with cells and bars—others are in prisons of their own
making. They don’t make the most of the opportunities available to them.
- Make
work fun! Find something you love and are energized by, and then figure out how
to monetize that activity. Be tenacious and relentless in going after your goals
and dreams.
- America
offers us an opportunity; success is the result; preparation and hard work is
the process.
- Poverty
is the result of a lack of vision.
- Work
on having a victor, not a victim mindset. Your mindset will impact your actions,
and those actions will determine your thoughts.
- Whatever
you focus on expands, either negatively or positively. Focus on the great and
grand and grow your results.
- You
cannot solve a problem with the same thought that created it.
- Work
on your own self identity. Who are you and what are you supposed to do with your
life? Write it down!
- Work
on a plan to get to where you want to go. Write it down!
- Master
the rules of the game. Learn more so you can earn more!
