As a proponent of
personal empowerment and the betterment of society, I'm passionate about
illuminating the differences between what we think of as "management"
and what we recognize as true leadership.
I've spoken on leadership in both the media and in person, here in the U.S. and many times abroad. However, my most recent interview on Biana Kovic's
leadership podcast provided a rare opportunity for me to respond deeply
to questions that every person wishing to become a true leader in their
own right should consider:
- Leading with ideas versus transactions
- Why the skill of getting people to operate well together is so powerful to true leadership
- The "right" and "wrong" way to lead, assuming you are in it for the long term
- The critical role respect plays in garnering a leadership following
- The power of influence and the ways to create culture around us
- The best word of advice I ever received on leadership, and how it can benefit not just leaders but everyone else around them
- The impact, energy and positive outcomes that arise from employing the "Happiness Factor"
- The importance and payoffs of employing listening skills & personal reflection
- Four Key Things Every Leader Should Practice
- How to handle critical people above and around you and still exude your own leadership
